Registered Peer Supervisor Training

The Behavioral Health Administration, the University of Maryland Training Center, and Talbot County Health Department is pleased to bring Registered Peer Supervisor Training to you.

What is Registered Peer Supervisor Training?

This training will assist supervisors of peer recovery specialists (PRS) in identifying and directing the skills, knowledge and abilities of their PRS staff as well as supporting them in their roles. This training is for supervisors who provide supervision to peers who are seeking to become Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS). The CPRS certification is for the peer recovery support worker who provides recovery support services to individuals living with behavioral health disorders

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

- Differentiate between supervision of clinicians from peer specialists

- Explain peer considerations in developing the supervisor's role

- List values guiding peer supervision

- Describe functions of a supervisor in a peer-based recovery support service

- Assist CPRS, who they supervise, be aware of how to use supervisory support


When- June 27, 2019

Time- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration will start at 8:30 am, training will promptly start at 9:00am

Cost- Free

Trainers- Tyrell Moyd, RPS, Principle Facilitator, 3c Recovery Support Institute and Adelaide Weber, Coordinator of Special Programs, Office of Consumer Affairs, Behavioral Health Administration

If you come late and/or leave early, you will not receive a certificate.

This training is approved by MABPCB, Maryland Addictions and Behavioral-health Professionals Certification Board, which is the peer credentialing board in Maryland. This training meets 6 hours of the required 6 training hours of training needed to become a Registered Peer Supervisor by the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral-health Professionals Certification Board.
